Do you want to contribute to the sustainable use of earth’s diminishing resources by exploring more efficient utilisation of side streams and products?

We are now looking for enthusiastic and motivated researchers from various research fields to join our Inorganic Side Streams (InStreams) research programme at the University of Oulu. InStreams has strong commitment to a focus in sustainable materials and systems, and a wide academic base for interdisciplinary inorganic materials research and engineering, readily combined with sustainable value chains and business. The vision is to actively contribute to the move towards clean production ecosystems of the future by identifying and solving key problems with the help of high-quality research.

Open positions
High volume applications of inorganic side streams
Fibre and Particle Engineering Research Unit, Faculty of Technology
Research concentrating on developing advanced cement-like materials, with negative carbon footprint. Multidisciplinary research with state-of-the art methods, including laboratory work, inorganic material analyses, as well as thermodynamic modelling.

Advanced characterization of inorganic materials
Nano and Molecular Systems Research Unit, Faculty of Science
Multidisciplinary work utilizing spectroscopic and microscopic characterization techniques to gain molecular level insight to fundamental physical and chemical properties and processes.
