Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT is opening a Post-doctoral Position in the field of two-dimensional materials, in the framework of the Future & Emerging Technologies on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship, funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 881603 for the 2020-2023 period (http://graphene-flagship.eu/).
The successful candidate will join the “2D Materials Engineering” Research Line, led by the Principal Investigator and Coordinator for the Graphene Flagship activities in IIT, Dr. Camilla Coletti. The place of work will be Pisa, in tight collaboration with partners of the EU Graphene Flagship project and the IIT Graphene Labs.
The selected candidate will be implementing novel growth techniques for the scalable synthesis of highly-crystalline bidimensional (2D) TMDs on technologically relevant substrates and will be investigating the properties of the resulting material by spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.
Eligible applicants must have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Engineering or related fields. Previous experience in synthesis of 2D materials will be considered a plus. Excellent English communication skills, creativity and marked enthusiasm for research are mandatory.
