Do you have a passion for excellence and extensive experience in designing highly complex instruments? If so, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team

Location: Abingdon
Reporting to: Software Manager

The opportunity

The successful candidate will work within the software development team creating and delivering key functionality on the RPM systems to support advances on the system.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop LabView software to run the National Instruments Real Time computer to deliver required functionality from the business.
  • Produce high-quality design documentation to support the code being developed.
  • Work closely with the SQA team to deliver high quality to be used by customers.

Personal qualities

  • Able to work independently, setting priorities for own work based upon the company goals and targets.
  • Engages with other member for the company to bring the best solutions to the problem recognise the value that fellow company members bring to enhance own abilities. Supports colleagues with their tasks when critical to the company goals.
  • In own field establishes themselves as the knowledge centre.
  • React and address both short and medium term issues and proactively take action to solve them.
  • Focus on the company goal, avoid distraction, making timely decisions to achieve the target.

Education/qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher coupled with industrial experience.

Professional skills/abilities

  • Essential: LabView Real Time development.
  • Essential: >two years’ experience in writing Lab View code in an industrial area.
  • Ideally: LabView CLAD/CLD.
  • Ideally: LabView FPGA experience.
  • Ideally: Experience working on writing code that interacts with hardware systems.
