We are looking for a Senior Quantum Engineer, Experiments to support our mission of expanding the frontier of scientific and technological progress.

What will I be doing?

You will be leading a project team with a mission to conduct and improve calibration and benchmarking of superconducting quantum processing units and relevant test devices. You will collaborate closely with other teams which are working on providing the device design, device fabrication, software engineering support and laboratory development. As a senior engineer, your work consists of the following tasks:

• Planning of R&D activities by setting the priorities and timelines.
• Ensuring a timely execution and reporting progress of R&D activities.
• Participating in hands-on R&D work.
• Supporting your team with coaching and ensuring their learning and development in relevant areas of expertise.
• Instructing and coaching team members.

What skills do I need?

• PhD in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or other related field (or demonstrated industry experience).
• Good understanding and solid experience with superconducting qubit physics and experiments.
• Basic understanding of good software development practices, Python language, and version control systems.
• Experience with microwave electronics used in a typical superconducting qubit experiment setup.
• Good communication in English (verbal and written).
• Demonstrated leadership skills are seen as an advantage.
