The role

Senior Medical Physicist to champion Proton system commissioning and support its clinical operation.

Key accountabilities

  • Able to independently perform Proton treatment system commissioning, calibration etc related work to meet international clinical and safety standard.
  • Able to design and carry out proton system quality assurance program (including commissioning of new QA tools) to ensure system performance is always at optimal condition.
  • Able to perform proton treatment planning through discussing clinical cases with the consultant on treatment plans and techniques.
  • Able to coach staff involved in proton treatment.
  • Able to perform treatment planning for external beam radiotherapy.
  • Able to perform Quality Assurance program for Linear Accelerator systems.
  • To supervise the radiation therapists to ensure that they perform their duties in accordance to the standards required of them and that they observe the radiation safety rules.
  • To ensure the maintenance of the radiotherapy equipment are done as per schedule and all test reports of equipment maintenance are reviewed.
  • Able to help in frontline troubleshooting for all therapy related machines and service engineer coordination
  • Lead department quality/safety project(s).

Qualifications and experience

  • Master/degree in medical physics.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a medical physicist in an institution.
