The Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics at TU Braunschweig is seeking to appoint a Junior Professorship for

Sensing and Computing in Future IoT (Internet of Things) Systems
(W1 with Tenure-Track to W2)

The Junior Professorship, established at the Institute of Computer and Network Engineering, is dedicated in research and lectures to architectures of future highly integrated computer and sensor systems. Possible application fields are e.g. environmental technology and space technology (in-situ and remote sensing).

Applicants to this Junior Professorship position shall provide a record as excellent junior researcher who will complete and continue the successful research at TU Braunschweig in the fields of circuit technology and computer architecture for dependable systems in the direction of future technologies for highly integrated computing and sensing systems. She or he shall develop new approaches and methods for heterogeneous co-integration of electronics and sensors, providing future compact and highly integrated elements as an enabler for new applications in the Internet of Things. The Professorship is related to the research cluster “metrology” within the department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, with potential of collaboration with further research cluster within the department.

Applicants to this position must hold a doctoral degree with above average grade and provide proof of their teaching experience and ability. The applicant shall have excellent research competency from university or industry, shown e.g. by excellent publications, successful applications for research grants and experience in international co-operations. International experience in lecturing as well as ability and willingness to teach in English language is explicitly appreciated.
The junior professor´s initial appointment is limited to three years. After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years. In accordance with the tenure track statues of TU Braunschweig, the appointment will be tenured at the level W2 after a positive final evaluation. The requirements of the position are defined in Section 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz). Candidates at an early stage in their careers can apply. The Ph.D. examination should be passed within the last four years.
