Job advert description

As a Finance Assistant you will be responsible for administering key banking routines and procedures and helping the business to maintain, control and report banking and cash flow activities. This is a customer facing role, dealing with suppliers and individuals who receive the payments. The role is responsible for processing bank account transactions; scheduling payment authorisation; cash management and cash handling; bank reconciliations; query resolution; maintaining online banking systems and preparation and analysis of reports for management information.

This role will require you to work collaboratively with other members of the team and staff around the business to ensure that all payments and receipts are properly processed and allocated. A strong sense of customer service and adaptability in solving problems is essential to the role.

About you

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

Qualifications

  • Educated to at least A level or equivalent.
  • Finance qualifications (e.g. AAT) preferable but not essential.

Skills and experience

  • Experience of using finance and banking systems.
  • An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Taking ownership and development of processes.
  • An instinct for continuous improvement in processes.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups, pivots etc).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
