  • Coordinate the analysis of data from existing experiments and guide the publication of physics results, in concert with group members and international collaborators.
  • Represent the ORNL Relativistic Nuclear Physics Group at DOE scientific or project reviews, meetings with Long Range Planning Committees, and at scientific meetings and conferences as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with environment, safety, and health regulations.

Basic qualifications

  • A PhD in nuclear physics or in a closely related discipline (e.g. nuclear chemistry or particle physics) with a minimum of six years of experience past PhD conferral.

Preferred qualifications

  • An excellent record of leadership in relativistic nuclear physics, including notable publications in peer-reviewed journals and invited presentations at major conferences in the field.
  • A leader in innovative detector technology and successful experience in large-scale detector projects.
  • A creative and productive member in the international nuclear physics community with proven skills in team leadership and personnel organization.
