Overview of the role

We have a number of vacancies at our Rosyth, Helensburgh, Gosport or Plymouth sites. Your role in this developing business will be a multi-disciplinary one, involving the conduct of electromagnetic signature measurement trials. A combination of office based and fieldwork, the role will focus on both ships and submarines, with particular emphasis on setting up and fault‑finding of vessels’ degaussing systems and analysis of data measured from our magnetic ranges. Typical activities will comprise, measurement trials, analysis of data, technical report production, pre-ranging system grooms and assisting vessel staff in fault rectification.

Qualifications

Qualified to at least degree level in physics, engineering or computer science, HNC level in engineering with an interest in physics and computer science, and have at least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in an engineering field. Familiarity with maritime platforms/systems can be advantageous but not essential as training will be given where appropriate. We are looking for a strong communicator and team player who is capable of remaining calm under pressure.  You will need to be self-motivated and have the flexibility to work at a variety of different locations (UK and abroad) and the physical ability to manage boat transfers and ladders. You must hold a UK passport and a full, clean UK driving licence.
