We are currently recruiting for a communications officer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who is passionate about producing creative and impactful communications to join our growing communications team.

The communications officer has a vital role to play in creating and delivering communications to key external stakeholders. The post holder will write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including our website, earned media, social media, print and online.

They will be instrumental in implementing IOP Publishing’s digital strategy to help expand the reach and impact of IOP Publishing’s social media, creating a variety of shareable content and identifying and engaging with key stakeholders.  Managing the maintenance of the company website will also be a key focus, creating and posting content and reporting on metrics and trends. In addition, the post holder will keep abreast of industry developments in the media and identify and secure coverage opportunities that will increase IOP Publishing’s visibility externally.   On a regular basis, they will monitor and review the effectiveness of media relations and social media work, including testing and revising content.

Key job accountabilities include

  • Raise awareness of IOPP’s brand amongst external audiences.
  • Build IOPP’s social media presence.
  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of the company website.
  • Monitor and evaluate press coverage, manage media contact lists and identify and secure coverage opportunities.
  • Write and distribute press releases, thought leadership articles and web copy.
  • Working closely with the Studio team to ensure brand consistency across all promotional collateral.

About you

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge and experience of communications and brand management in a digital environment.
  • Expertise in managing multiple social media platforms.
  • Experience of ensuring brand consistency.
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.
