CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire) is an organization devoted to the promotion of fundamental research on advanced computational methods and to their application to frontier areas of science and technology. CECAM is organized as a network of  17 nodes in Europe and Israel, and the headquarters in Lausanne. This  arrangement provides a globally visible network of state-of-the-art venues for workshops, schools and collaborative research projects. For more than 50 years, CECAM keeps playing a unique role in simulation and modelling, contributing to the establishment of computational methods as a new, effective and transversal tool to make science. CECAM preserves its trademark, based on open and informal discussions, and combines it with new tools for sustainability, remote participation and outreach. The intellectual and material infrastructure provided by CECAM evolves with its communities, adding new areas and engaging with the leaders in the field and new generations of simulators.
