Start Date: 01September 2020 or as soon possible thereafter.
Fixed Term: 12 months in the first instance extendable up to 30 months.

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates to join as a post-doctoral research fellow in a UKRI funded research project focused on the ‘Indoor Power Harvesting of Hybrid Perovskites’.

The Energy Harvesting Research group is being established at the School of Physics and Astronomy as part of a UKRI-Future Leaders Fellowship.

The research fellow will conduct research on the compositional tuning of hybrid perovskites, characterise the photovoltaic properties under indoor and solar spectra lighting conditions, and interface these indoor light energy harvesters with low power sensors for the Internet of Things (IoT).

The project involves collaboration with the University of Southampton, University of Glasgow, and industrial partners such as BAE Systems, Power Textiles Ltd, Veitch Cooper, Avantama Ltd and KP technology.

We seek a highly motivated and excellent candidate with a research interest in the materials development and photovoltaic device fabrication. Prior experience of solution processing of semiconductors and optoelectronic devices is essential.

The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of St Andrews is a world-leading research institution and one of the top places to study the subject in the UK. The School is committed to providing an inclusive environment promoting creativity, originality and wellbeing of staff and students.

From 2017, the School holds IOP Juno Champion and Athena SWAN silver awards.

The School has several advanced research facilities including: two class 10,000 cleanrooms for nanofabrication and photonic device fabrication, their detailed photophysical and electrical characterization, and mechanical and electronic workshops.

For informal enquiries please contact Dr Lethy Krishnan Jagadamma: lkj2@st-andrews.ac.uk.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our working on diversity awards (ECU Athena SWAN/Race Charters; Carer Positive; LGBT Charter; and Stonewall). More details can be found at http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.
