We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the magnetism research group (Dr Tom Ostler) for a two year position working on the EPSRC-funded TERASWITCH project Towards Low Dissipation THz-Induced Switching of Magnetic Materials.

The role will involve working with collaborators at STFC Daresbury Laboratory to perform and analyse the results of first principles calculations in order to construct atomistic spin dynamics models.  This work will also be carried out in collaboration with experimental groups at FU-Berlin, Germany.

You must have (or be about to complete) a PhD in theoretical magnetism/condensed matter physics and have expertise in mathematical physics and some experience programming C/C++, FORTRAN is essential.

For informal enquiries, please feel free to contact Tom Ostler: t.ostler@shu.ac.uk

Application deadline: 12 July 2020.
