What you’ll do at Elekta  

You will work closely with the local system engineering team, as well as with the rest of the system physics team and other colleagues, who are based across different locations in Europe, US and China. The system physics team is responsible for physics aspects of linear accelerator-based solutions within the engineering organization of Elekta’s Linac Business Line, including system engineering responsibilities for quality assurance and set-to-work. 

Your main responsibilities 

As a senior physicist your role: 

  • Involves the provision of physics input to design specifications, test methodologies, performing experiments and investigations.  
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.  
  • Occasionally will require involvement with production and field activities.  

The right stuff  

To be a suitable candidate for this position we think you have:  

  • A degree in physics, radiation physics, medical physics, accelerator physics, or closely related discipline, with evidence of experience of applied radiation physics either in a research, industrial or clinical environment. Postgraduate and/or clinical qualifications is desirable.  
  • Considerable experience of linear accelerator systems, with expertise in radiation physics and dosimetry, linac commissioning and acceptance, QA equipment and test methods.  
  • Ability to contribute in one or several of the following areas: Monte Carlo simulations and other physics modelling techniques, control systems for experiments, scientific programming (e.g. Matlab), accelerator physics and X-ray imaging.  
  • An excellent understanding of the principles of engineering design and verification, and the ability to take a system-level approach to problem solving.  
  • The capability and willingness to demonstrate technical leadership, and an aptitude for working in a process-oriented and regulated environment.  
  • Excellent command in English, both written and spoken.  
  • Applied knowledge of medical device international and national regulatory standards would be an advantage.  
  • Experience of working according to LEAN-Agile practices would also be an advantage.
