A brand new role for a talented Laser Scientist / Laser Systems Engineer with a background in the simulation and test of optical laser-based systems. This newly created vacancy is in group dedicated to researching the next generation of Optical Laser based technologies for a variety of applications. This is an exceptional opportunity to be a key figure in ground-breaking research project dedicated to developing state of the art applications for Optical Laser Systems including devices, displays, lighting, automotive and robotics.
The research arm of this global electronics company are well known for their ground breaking research which has contributed to the advancement in technologies that are now in everyday use the world over. They are dedicated to continuing their research, investing heavily to ensure their products are on the forefront of science and engineering in decades to come.
Once such area they are focusing on is optical laser based systems and how these can be incorporated into the next -generation of devices such as display technologies and ultra-efficient lighting . To support this research they are looking for a Laser Scientist / Engineer with experience of Optical Laser Systems to design and simulate systems before building and testing prototypes to prove concepts.
This is a brand new role offering excellent career and personal development prospects in addition to a competitive salary and benefits package. Though commercial experience is desirable, it is not essential as the company would consider recent Masters / PhD graduate with experience of optical laser systems through their academic studies.
To be considered for the role of Optical Laser Systems Scientist you need the following:
- A minimum of a master's degree in Physics, Engineering or Mathematics ( MEng, MPhys etc)
- An aptitude for simulation of complex optical and opto-electronic systems using ZEMAX, LightTools or similar
- Experience of software code development in C++, Matlab or similar
- A keen interest in laser based systems and ideally Laser light sources.
- Excellent communication skills
