Postdoctoral Research Associate, Beamline I15
Diamond Light Source
Harwell Science & Innovation Campus, Oxfordshire
£32,480 - £38,211 (Discretionary range to £43,943)
Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron science facility. Located on the Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire a 20 minute drive south of Oxford in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Diamond Light Source conducts world-class research in virtually all fields of science and offers rewarding career opportunities covering both technical and scientific disciplines.
We are seeking a PDRA, experienced in high-pressure and low-temperature measurements, to install and use a magnetic-susceptibility set-up for studying pressure-induced magnetic and superconducting transitions in conjunction with structural phase transitions on the extreme conditions beamline I15 at Diamond Light Source. A thorough knowledge of experimental high pressure, low temperature, and magnetic measurement techniques is essential. You will work with the beamline team to commission the equipment and perform individual research in any area relevant to I15. Some beamline operation and development, including User support will be required. I15 provides powder and single-crystal diffraction based around the diamond-anvil cell and a wide range of on- and off-line laser facilities.
