We are looking for a self-motivating and dependable person to join our Outreach and Engagement department as a Regional Officer for London and the South East of England.
- Building, engaging and supporting the Institute of Physics membership regionally
- Raising the profile of the IOP within businesses and industry
- Facilitating and delivering public engagement activity
- Raising the profile of physics and the IOP to local policymakers
- Supporting the Institute’s work to strengthen the core discipline of physics and support physicists in their careers
The role may either be based out of the IOP’s London offices or as a remote working arrangement.

We are looking for a proactive team player to join the Institute as a Regional Officer for London and the South East of England. Essential skills for this multifaceted role include a knowledge of the regional physics landscape and proven experience engaging and supporting volunteers. You will also have great interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication, as well as experience with the administration and management of multiple projects..
The ideal candidate would have experience working with schools and an awareness of the English school system. They would also have worked in science communication, having delivered public engagement activities and worked with varied stakeholders and partners.
