The Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn invites applications for a
Post-doctoral Researcher (m/f) in the ALICE experiment (100%, E 13 TV-L)
to begin as soon as possible at the Helmholtz-Institut für Strahlen- und Kernphysik. The group of Prof. B Ketzer is active in the field of experimental high-energy hadron/heavy-ion physics and related detector development. The successful candidate is expected to contribute significantly to the upgrade of the ALICE Time Projection Chamber with GEM technology, for which the group at Bonn laid the foundations. In addition, an initiative for a physics analysis project within ALICE is encouraged. The successful candidate is also expected to spend time at CERN for data taking periods and to contribute to the maintenance and operation of the detector.
- A PhD degree in experimental nuclear or particle physics
- Experience with particle detectors and/or data analysis
