Faculty Position in Cardiovascular Devices and Biomechanics
Purdue University and the College of Engineering are seeking faculty candidates in the area of cardiovascular devices and biomechanics. Hiring priority is given to highly qualified and creative individuals with established track record at the rank of assistant and associate professor levels but exceptional applicants at higher rank will receive serious consideration. Areas of emphasis include cardiovascular devices and instrumentation, tissue mechanics, growth and remodeling, cardiovascular hemodynamics, electrophysiology and cardiovascular imaging. However, applicants in other related areas are encouraged to apply. This position is part of the college’s initiative to develop a preeminent team in the area of implantable networks of wireless nanoelectronic nodes. The goal of this hiring opportunity is to focus on cardiovascular devices and biomechanics combined with clinical impact towards diagnostics, monitoring, management and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Candidates must hold a PhD in Engineering Science or a related field. The successful candidates will be expected to develop strong, externally-funded research programs, conduct original high quality research, advise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, develop innovative curricula, and perform service both at the School and University levels. Candidates with experience working with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff and the ability to contribute to an inclusive climate are particularly encouraged to apply.
The strong interdisciplinary, cross-cutting and translational focus of this hiring opportunity requires that successful faculty will bridge disciplinary gaps, develop collaborations within and outside current and future members of this preeminent team, and impact clinical practice.
