At TTP we have created a company for people who want more from a career - the potential for a science and engineering focused career but with the added dynamic of a fiercely commercial environment. You will work with many of the largest companies throughout the USA, EU and Japan as well as some of the most exciting start-ups.
At TTP, you might be working on incremental improvements to well-known products, generating a disruptive technology that will change the face of a market, or developing in-house IP to create a new spin-out company. From the outset, you will have real responsibility, allowing you to have a personal impact on the business. And the outcomes of our projects will be meaningful, whether improving people’s lives by making inhalers easier to use, helping to save lives through faster diagnostic tools, or job creation where projects necessitate new production lines: what you do here really will matter.
We believe in developing cutting edge technologies with a clear purpose, we’re market driven and like to make money, as do our shareholders (that includes you). TTP is employee-owned, so you are directly rewarded by your efforts.
To further encourage enterprise throughout the business, we have a ‘flat’ structure. The freedom this offers goes hand-in-hand with responsibility: we trust our people to use this freedom wisely. Of course, everyone, from new graduate to experienced consultant, needs guidance or advice in their career, and we support this. As much as we want people who enjoy challenges and can make their own way, we know the value of mentoring and training. Training typically involves a blend of bespoke internal courses and externally run courses and is tailored to the individual. This works best, given the variety of roles you might do and projects that you can work on at TTP.
And who do we work with? Well, we can’t tell you all of them – there are too many and some of our work is commercially sensitive – but we were behind the first mobile phone for Samsung. We also work with global companies and famous brands including Black and Decker, Philips and AstraZeneca. What is safe to say is that that you will find TTP technology across markets, from aerospace to medical, and in products from inkjet printers to chocolate bars. At its heart, TTP is a place where technologies are created so that companies can make great products. We are always thinking and we are never bored.
The Applied Science Group is a unique multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. We have a focus on novel devices and early-stage technology in markets ranging from aerospace to healthcare. While the technologies we work on evolve constantly, our core expertise is in the design, development, and transfer-to-manufacture of electromechanical devices based on sensor, actuator, pump, spray, and digital printing technologies.
Our work is a mixture of solving valuable problems for our clients and inventing and commercialising new, disruptive technologies. Our clients range from innovative start-ups to some of the world’s most respected technology companies.
- As a key contributor to an exceptional team, you will be responsible for solving challenging technical problems by creatively applying your broad range of skills.

Qualifications and training:
In order to maintain our reputation for excellence we need the best people; ambitious scientists who want to collaborate in a unique environment and share in our collective success.
People who work at TTP combine the intellect and creativity required to solve tough technical problems with the practical skills and common sense to put their solutions into practice. For this role, first rate academic credentials in physics (or a closely related discipline) are a minimum requirement; we are looking for candidates with an intuitive grasp of fundamental scientific principles.
Value is created when our consultants match advances in technology to market opportunities. This requires not only technical excellence, but also insight into market needs. We look for people with the potential to develop this insight when exposed to some of the world’s most exciting technology companies. Do you understand the potential commercial impact of your research? Can you describe the business model of the company where you spent your summer placement?
Leadership and drive
We look for people with the entrepreneurial spirit, innovative nature, and persistence required to create new technologies – and ultimately to grow our company or start new ventures. Leadership and drive demonstrated through work, academia or extracurricular activities is important.
