The School of Engineering and Computer Science at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand’s top ranked research University, seeks to make an appointment at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level in Electronic Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career academic to become associated with a top ranked university intent upon growing its engineering programme, increasing student numbers and expanding our internationally significant research. A successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in curriculum development, achieve excellence in research and demonstrate best practice in teaching.
A PhD in a relevant area and the ability to teach one or more of analogue, digital, RF and/or embedded electronics from first year through to postgraduate levels is essential. The successful candidate will have research interests aligned with existing research directions in our School, specifically robotics, mechatronics, bio-medical devices, power electronics, instrumentation, and sensor systems. A strong publication record in one (or more) of these areas is expected.
It is essential for candidates to be able to demonstrate industry or research experience in practical electronics. The preferred candidate would ideally also have a record of attracting external funding.
