INTECH Investment Management LLC is a global investment firm employing a mathematical process for the management of equity portfolios, on behalf of clients like public and corporate pension plans. The investment team consists of Ph.D.s in mathematics and physics, and is located in Palmer Square in downtown Princeton. The Associate of research is primarily responsible for:
- conducting theoretical and experimental mathematical research directed by the investment team
- representing INTECH in the broader investment community through articles and conference talks; and
- maintaining and improving the computer systems used in the investment process.
The candidate is required to have a Ph.D. degree in the natural sciences or mathematics and practical experience in computer programming (ideally, in a C-type language). Moreover, the candidate should be comfortable collaborating in a multicultural, fast-paced environment with open, vigorous debate and a fluid research agenda. Exposure to developing mathematical models of real-world systems, and a record of developing workable solutions to complex problems are significant advantages. No prior exposure to finance or investments is required.
