Particle Physics Group
CMOS/ASIC Design Engineer
£31,644 - £47,787 pa
The particle physics research group in Liverpool is looking for a highly motivated individual to work with us on the design of a new generation of CMOS particle detectors. We are starting a new R&D area to prototype high resolution particle detectors using High Voltage CMOS (HV-CMOS) technology. The application of this technology promises detectors with high radiation tolerance and good timing performance. You will take responsibility for the layout of prototype sensors in HV-CMOS. You need to have a MEng, MSc or PhD degree in electronic engineering or equivalent. Experience in CMOS design, ideally including custom digital and analogue implementations (ASICs) would be desirable. The Liverpool particle physics group (http://www.liv.ac.uk/particle-physics) is involved in a wide range of experiments located in Europe, the US and Japan. For further information about the job contact Dr. Joost Vossebeld (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Dr. Gianluigi Casse (email@example.com). The post is available for 2 years initially, but the group is keen to establish a long term programme in this area.
