The Department of Physics at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Reader who has an established research profile in any area aligned with our existing interests. Areas of current research activity within the Department include nanoscience, photonics and condensed matter theory, all benefitting from very well-resourced facilities. The appointee will be expected to establish a well-funded independent research programme that strengthens and complements existing work in one or more of these areas. In due course they will also contribute to the normal teaching and administrative duties within the Department.
Physics at the University of Bath is a research-led Department, ranked firmly in the top 5 in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. Both the Department and the University are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive working environment. We are working to improve the present gender balance within the Department, and particularly welcome applications from women, who are currently under-represented in academic posts.
Please refer to the Department of Physics website for more information.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Professor Simon Bending (Head of Department) on phone number (01225) 3851743 or email email@example.com.
