LE STUDIUM Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies - founded in 1996 by Professor Paul Vigny and inspired by the cultural history, geography and people of the Loire Valley - is a regional agency whose aim is to boost international scientific exchange in the community of public and private research laboratories, in Centre-Val de Loire region, France. The aim of LE STUDIUM is to build the human capital for research, development and innovation. LE STUDIUM enables senior scholars out of France to be hosted in a diverse group of research laboratories located in the region.
In parallel, LE STUDIUM provides a collegial environment for experienced researchers by promoting cross-disciplinary scientific exchanges. To date, LE STUDIUM
has hosted over 130 researchers from 37 countries for a one-year residency.
LE STUDIUM issues an annual call for applications, November to February each year, open to research proposals from highly experienced researchers out of France partnering with laboratories in Centre-Val de Loire region: the SMART LOIRE VALLEY General Programme, cofinanced by the European Commission MSCA-COFUND.
